With great pleasure, we welcomed the Deputy Minister of Culture, Dr. Vasiliki Kassianidou, along with her team from the Department of Antiquities, to our facilities on Thursday, February 29. The visit was an excellent opportunity for exchanging views and presenting the rich cultural heritage associated with the operation of the Hadjigiorkis Flourmill Museum.
During the visit, the Deputy Minister and her team had the opportunity to tour the museum, discover the history of the traditional flour mill, and experience a unique journey into the past. With great interest, they participated in activities that allowed them to grind wheat on the hand mill and load the wheat onto the stone mill, reviving the traditional milling process.
This meeting strengthened the importance of preserving and promoting our cultural heritage, while offering the participants a chance to experience and appreciate the value of the traditional mill and local history.
